Activity:
- the students, in a group of 5, choose a Graeme Base book. they read the book and discuss with each other, the story and the main highlights that make the book distinct from the general story book. - they present the a short summary of the book to the class in the form of a presentaion.
Lesson 2
Rythm and Base
Theme:Rythmic pattern
Activity:
- the students focus on the front page rhyme of the books that they chose in the first activity. They identify the rhythmic pattern and how the rhyme describes the summary of the book.
- the students, in the group of 5, work on a poem of their own. they are required to make a short poem following the ideas and art of Graeme Base
Hey people,
I was just wondering... before they read the books, can we actually get them to read the cover page rhyme first and let them figure out what the content of the book maybe?
They can make a short written draft of what they think (prediction)? this way they would be interpreting the rhyme and understanding the meaning.
Then they continue with reading the book and then compare if they predicted the right story. and lesson 2 would make better sense then!! let me know!!
